Insight to the Known
This is one of those ideas that seems to come from a higher state of being. Unaware of how this thought even came about, it somehow held my mind focused until it was finally rendered from thought to visual concept. This is me speaking to myself of course but going deeper within one can see that it is a greater being inside of us that we are seldom aware of. Speaking of this inner being some label as spirit we must understand that it has a voice, not verbal expression like the body but speaking through thought. There is a way for each and every one of us to let our spirit shine through and its called acting on your excitement which mine is my art. In doing this with time we become radiant, vibrant, and people will notice saying "its like you have your own glow". With this project I wanted to show that we don't have to be forever blind to this world and ourselves nor do we have to fear our own capabilities, writing them off as what we're not supposed to know.
5th Density Being: Purple Matter
Here i dig deep to illustrate just how out of this world one can get when it comes to thinking outside the box. Originally this mysterious friend had not only 7 halos but a set of horns as well and the composition held an enlightening but also depressing truth with the caption "Humanity remains mentally and spiritually stagnant because it chooses to focus on my horns and not how i acquired 7 halos." The puzzling and controversial quote, while very intriguing, was then scrapped for the sake of the beings positive orientation and so not to be mistaken by the viewer.
Lady Grey Fox
Inspired by Metal Gear Solid's Grey Fox, an exoskeleton militant assassin seemingly back from the dead with a longing to feel pain once more, somehow I thought it would be a good idea to make a female version of that stealthy lunatic. The third eye was definitely a point of interest with this one and her dramatic hips gave a feminine touch to the oh so muscular shell that protects her. The semi-psychedelic face shot mimics Grey Fox's frantic outbursts of headbutting the floor and screaming for a taste of pain which landed him in my top 10 list of most psychotic video game characters. A metaphor for just how insane life can become without emotion sleeps right around the corner from this.
Enlightenment
Digging through my now ancient high school notes and sketches I skim across this little girl. The bamboo tablet I purchased was still fresh and needed to be properly broken in so this became a little test project. It is one of the first pictures I experimented with using the tablet and It came out much better than expected. With the concept, a little girl dropping her books and levitating gives the viewer just enough curiosity to ask "Just what was she reading?" That answer was left for the viewer to decide but with the earth behind her it does hint at what and more importantly who humans really are.
